In mathematics, the geometric mean is a mean or average which indicates a central tendency of a finite set of real numbers by using the product of their values. The geometric mean is defined as the nth root of the product of n numbers, i.e., for a set of numbers a₁, a₂, ..., a_n, the geometric mean is defined as

গণিতের ভাষায় একগুচ্ছ সংখ্যার গুণোত্তর গড় হলো এমন এক ধরনের গড়, যার মাধ্যমে ঐ সংখ্যাগুলোর কেন্দ্রীয় প্রবণতাকে অর্থাৎ সংখ্যাগুলোর সাধারণ মানকে এদের গুণফলের মাধ্যমে নির্ধারণ করা হয়। আমাদের অতি পরিচিত সমান্তর বা সাধারণ গড়ে যেখানে সংখ্যাগুলোর মানের যোগফল ব্যবহার করা হয়, তার থেকে বিপরীত হলো এই গুণোত্তর গড়। সাধারণভাবে, গুণোত্তর গড়কে n-সংখ্যক সংখ্যার গুণফলের n-তম মূল হিসেবে সংজ্ঞায়িত করা হয়।
